I'm still not entirely sure what this animation was meant to advertise—there are so many complexities to the pharmaceutical industry and the lingo the sales teams had to work with were very specific to their industry—all I know is that the client specifically requested 'a transforming car'. I wasn't sure just how I was going to do it, but I gave them a transforming car, symbolic of the change from an antiquated system of 'Mid Practitioner Sampling' (whatever that is) into a brand new, streamlined and, dare I say, futuristic system.
Inspired by the retro-look animated Esurance commercials of the mid-2000s, I storyboarded out the concept and presented it to the client. They loved it. Remarkably—and this never happens—the storyboard did not deviate much at all from the final animation. You can see the storyboard here.
